The European Investment Bank (EIB) and the Palestine Investment Fund (PIF) revealed the signing of a loan agreement worth $18 million which will finance the installation of 35 megawatts (MW) of solar PV systems on 500 public schools in the West Bank.

The schools have 40 MW of onsite renewable energy generation, with an additional 20 to 30 MW in planning stages.
The school says it wanted to reduce the amount of debt students are saddled with after medical school and attract a more diverse class of students.
The new legislation means that students between the age of 3 and 15 will either have to leave their phones at home or keep them turned off during the school day.
